Dear Peter,

A well-thought-out article. And there's no road. Being on the path (or road) to enlightenment is like 'trying' to do something, impossible. Either You do it or You don't. Either We're choosing enlightenment or We're not.

Nothing more effectively keeps us from where We want to be than thinking there's a path to it. It's not a journey but a choice.

Love,
Sun~Rose

Dear lotusdemon,

Thanks for writing in and attempting to clarify the credibility of the author of Glimpse After Glimpse. Unfortunately, your comments have little bearing on the case here. If any fault was made, perhaps it was mine in not introducing him properly as both author and compiler of the book. He does credit author after author in his choices of daily glimpses throughout the book. I like to say, "Truth is truth", and in this case I think I can recognize the truth when I see it. That's one of the great things about truth. It's often immediately recognizable. Not every idea in the daily gleaner strikes me as profound, but I have learned many things from the reading of the book. Mr. Rinpoche, btw, makes no claim to be the sole author of the book.

As to your comment that "He is barely literate and was never trained as a lama", honestly, I think also that this has no bearing on this case either. I don't believe in a God who would only pass His truths on to only the trained and literate. If that were true, many of us would be in big trouble.

At any rate, thanks for writing in. A little controversy is always good to wake up the awareness.

There's some good stuff in both books credited to Sogyal Lakar aka Rinpoche -- although Glimpse after Glimpse is a glaringly obvious pot boiler. But please be under no illusions -- Sogyal did not write either of these books. He is barely literate and was never trained as a lama...
