Last fall, as many of you know, Watchfire Music presented a series of Inspirational music concerts here in NYC under the banner of the WFM Listening Room.  Julia Wade, Watchfire Music’s best-selling artist, headlined five of these concerts with various opening acts chosen from a wonderful list of New York talent.

We opened up with three concerts on Central Park at Jenkins House Concerts, an intimate parlor setting in a brownstone just off the park and soon outgrew this lovely, but too small atmosphere.  At that point we moved the last three concerts into Shetler Studios Penthouses to accommodate the audiences that kept coming back again and again and each time bringing more and more friends.

Jenny Burton with Kevin Osborne and Friends closed Series I just before Christmas and sold out two weeks before the performance date.  So we moved the venue to Shetler’s largest venue, Penthouse I, and sold it out in the next 24 hours.  And who says the music business is dead?

WFM Listening Room Opens in NYC
A Howling Success!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhh!

Pardon me if I howl a trifle, but occasionally things go even better than one dreams.  The Watchfire Music Listening Room debuted this past week to a sold out audience and by the end of the evening clearly became a dream defined.

Here is an idea whose time has truly come.  A place where one could come and spend an evening in intimate and elegant surroundings, Jenkins House Concerts just off of Central Park on the West Side of Manhattan, and do little else than simply listen to great “live” music in an un-mic’d setting.

Here was music at its natural best, parlor performed by two multi-talented ladies.  The audience was a wild mix of melting-pot New Yorkers – young and old, professionals and fans, black and white, and all went home full of good food and rich blessings – and only for a $15 ticket.  Such a deal!
